Urban Mobility Laboratory

2017 to 2020

The Urban Mobility Laboratory (UML) Salzburg is intended to support innovation projects in personal mobility and city logistics in the central Salzburg area. The three focal points of the UML are intermodal interfaces (in personal mobility and city logistics, integrated mobility management (location-based) and ITS (intelligent transport systems) and alternative drives.

On the one hand, the UML Salzburg should accompany user-related innovation projects and thus transfer research results (incl. prototypes) into sustainable applications, and on the other hand, it should coordinate mobility offers with and to the special challenges of the city and the region. The UML Salzburg aims to initiate new socially relevant innovation projects that make a central contribution to an intelligent organisation of urban personal and city goods mobility and also have a very high probability of implementation based on the basic strategies.

In addition to the basic tasks (e.g. awareness raising, coordination of the master plans), innovative services are also offered which can be used by research institutions, planning offices, SMEs and industry to support their innovation projects, whereby – depending on the issue – different stakeholder groups are involved in order to achieve the highest possible degree of networking.
