Regional concepts of CO2-neutral heat demand and refrigeration load covering

The aim of this project is the development of spatial models which are supposed to show whether heat demand and refrigeration load can be satisfied by regional renewable energy sources. This is the basis for statements concerning a CO2 neutral demand covering. The potentials of biomass, solar thermal and geothermal energy for heat demand as well as the heat demand itself is modelled for two test regions (Murau & Feldbach/Radkersburg).

The usage of commonly available data can guarantee the assignment of the model to other regions.

This project is executed within the research program "energy systems of tomorrow" - an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology. This program "energy systems of tomorrow" obtains its funds from a technology push initiative by the federal governement because of an recommendation of the Austrian Council for research and technology development.
