50 students from Twente (NL) visiting iSPACE

In the course of an excursion to various geoinformatics organizations in Germany and Austria, 50 geoinformatics master’s students visited the Studio iSPACE. Their aim was to get insights into current applied research. For this purpose, iSPACE prepared eight talks in two locations to show the students the diverse topics and organizational forms of research:

ESRI Young Scholar Award 2018 for Anna Butzhammer

Anna Butzhammer, an Applied Geoinformatics graduate from the University of Salzburg, has gained the ESRI Young Scholar Award 2018 for her outstanding master thesis with the title “Modelling intermodal accessibility considering quality aspects of public and private transport - a GIS-based approach for the State of Salzburg”.

Study visit on urban green management and planning

On March 7 and 8 RSA iSPACE organised a study visit in the scope of the INTERREG Central Europe project "Urban Green Belts" where partners from Croatia and Italy were invited. In this thematic working group innovative GIS solutions for green space management and development were discussed with local experts and researchers.

Second place of Best Full Paper Award @ AGILE 2017

We congratulate Laura Knoth, Manfred Mittlböck and Bernhard Vockner to the 2nd Place of this year's AGILE-ESRI Best Full Paper award which they got for their paper "3D Building Maps for Everyone - Mapping Buildings Using VGI".

We congratulate Christian Feil to his graduation

After researching for several months in the sector of Indoor Positioning, Christian Feil could finish his master in this topic successfully. The thesis topic aimed at Indoor Positioning leveraging Bluetooth Low Energy and was about the conceptional and technical development of such a system accompanied by the evaluation of its potential.
