EULE - EuRegionale Raumanalyse

2008 to 2010

EuRegional spatial potentials, spatial indicators and spatial scenarios as a basis for decisions for an innovative spatial development in Southeast Upper Bavaria and Salzburg (EULE)

In the region of Salzburg- Berchtesgadener Land- Traunstein exists a need of crossborder planning criteria for several topics. Because of the increasing collaboration within the region it is necessary to open this information to the public and encourage a "EuRegional awareness".

The aim of the project is the creation of topic oriented planning fundamentals for the most important crossborder issues which have been treated solely nationally so far. The results can be used by the planning authorities to develop and implement planning concepts and programs.

The regional infrastructure potentials (recidence attractiveness) for the densely populated border region shall be evaluated to support the control mechanisms of spatial development. Furthermore the public crossborder transport will be supported through the creation of planning fundamentals and the revealing of options for a "region of short paths". The main focus will lie on the railway line Lengau - Straßwalchen - Salzburg - Freilassing - Traunstein - Traunreut - Trostberg.

The project is funded by the European Union within the Interreg IV A program.
